...it's the night before the tour starts, and as always I'm unprepared. Maybe I'll always be this way. Maybe I like being this way..(?)I'm bringing quite a bit of studio gear with me this time to record on the road, and possibly for use live too.. I haven't decided yet. I expect most Artists would know exactly what set they were gonna do, the night before their tour, but I'm none the wiser. I sometimes think I'll work it out before hand, but just getting out there and doing it is a great way of shaping a show. It sort of means that the first couple of shows you're testing the water to see what fits best, but that never feels like a half hearted thing to me. If anything, I think it's those shows that often stand out, cause they've got that tension that gets lost the more you rehearse something. Having said that I never like to rehearse the danger out of it anyway...
Right, I'm off to pack... tomorrow:Cork

Deva replied about 22 hours after.Good luck with the tour Foy although I'm still upset that you're skipping Dublin on this tour but I'm sure I'll see you soon enough. If you play Angels n Drag or Paradise the next time you're in Dublin I'll forgive you :-). I'm sure everything will turn out fine and you'll be amazing as always. Don't worry xx
Joan replied 1 day after.Hi Foy,
Unprepared or not, that was a terrific gig in Cypres Ave last night - I loved it. I really enjoy listening to the CD at home but live, WOW ! they took on a whole other life. I know you've just left and we must share you with other cities but please, come back to us soon.
Thanks for the photo with you afterwards - it's a lovely extra memory of the night.
Kind Regards, Joan. Cork.
Kim replied 1 day after.Hey this is weird! All 3 comments coming from members of the Duke Special forum! Just wanted to say good luck with the tour too. And i like your idea of playing whatever you want, sometimes setlists are too predictable. Also agree with Deva. Was looking forward to seeing you in Dublin but now i can't go to any of the others.:( Hopefully you'll be back soon!
Jay replied 2 days after.I am from Dublin and am delighted to see your playing the Spirit Store again, Ive seen you 4 times in Dublin and none of them compared to the Last gig in Dundalk even tho they were amazin too but the Intimate Venue and the fact you can stay on stage as late as you like makes it a much better gig...Cant wait for this Friday! Trust me Fellow Dubs, the 50 minute stint up the M1 is well worth it!
